Hey Nurse Friend,
Can I be honest for a moment?
Thank you for this moment, to be honest and transparent. Here goes nothing……
…….. I know my season of working from home is coming to an end. I don't know when, but I feel it in my soul. I am growing restless, sitting in a room alone. It has started to wear on me mentally. I need more social interaction. I am trying to hang in there because I prayed for this opportunity, and I feel super blessed to have this opportunity….. I just know I need more. In the meantime, I will sort through these feelings and plan my next pivot.
If you are reading this, it's probably because you want a change in your nursing career. Many people reach out to me looking for remote opportunities, and I always have to ask about their goals. A goal is essential when seeking a career change or new job opportunity. Without a clear objective, you may find yourself drifting from one position to another without making meaningful progress in your career.
When considering a remote opportunity, thinking beyond just the ability to work from home is crucial. Here are some questions to ask yourself: (I will be answering these questions as well)
1. What kind of work do you want to do?
2. What industry are you passionate about?
3. What skills do you want to develop or utilize?
4. What type of company culture are you looking for?
5. What are your salary expectations and other benefits you're seeking?
6. How does this fit into your long-term career plans?
Having a well-defined goal will help you:
1. Focus your job search on positions that align with your aspirations
2. Tailor your resume and cover letter to highlight relevant skills and experiences
3. Prepare more effectively for interviews by articulating your motivations clearly
4. Make informed decisions when evaluating job offers
5. Stay motivated during the job search process
Remember, a remote job is just a working arrangement, not a career path. Your goal should be tied to your professional growth, interests, and long-term aspirations. By clearly defining what you want to achieve, you'll be better equipped to find a remote opportunity that offers flexibility and aligns with your career objectives.
Next week I will be sharing some hybrid nursing roles that offer flexibility.

Things I am loving:
Blue Light Blocking Glasses. I picked up a pair this week at Target. Protect your eyes, ladies. Sitting at the computer for 8hrs plus can do a world of damage to your eyes. I am learning the hard way. I went to the eye doctor this week, and my prescription changed drastically.
Safely: Lavender & Coconut Milk. It smells so good. I picked up the cleaning spray, loved the scent, and went back for the plug-ins.
This plant was given to me by my grandmother. I admired one of her succulents, so she took a piece and gave it to me. This plant was originally my great-grandmother's, so to have a piece of my history means so much to me. I am pleased to report that it is still alive and thriving.
